While staring into tranquil nothingness sitting on a pristine wooden bench in the garden, a feminine voice comments on how pretty the garden and the flowers are before asking what I assume my name is. I look about me to spot the pink haired Betty from the bus. Apparently her name is Alli. “Oh hey, good to meet you” I casually greet the girl while throwing up a peace sign with my hand. “The name’s Page, and yes, the flowers are lookin’ choice” I say with a smile. Thinking to myself for a moment, I ask Alli, “Either this academy must be mondo or your hometown is lame since you went house on the bus earlier. Where ya from?”

I lurch forward a bit as someone bumps into me from behind. Turning around I see the culprit is a brown haired girl.

"No worries" I say with a cheery grin, "I probably shouldn't be standing in the middle of the walkway."

I let out a small laugh, but her gaze seems rather unimpressed. "Uh, I'm Siel by the way." I say as I offer my hand for a greeting, hoping she's not as annoyed as she looks.

I look at him blankly for a moment. "You talk funny!" I finally respond with a giggle. "Anyway I'm from Fortree in Hoenn. It's definitely really different from this place. Anyways where are you from? Do people talk weird there? Oh, so you must be new here too? Oh, since you're in the garden you must like grass pokemon right?" I feel like I'm almost bouncing with excitement. I've never met such a weirdo before, well, I haven't really met many people before...

Resisting the urge to sigh, I accept his handshake. "Lillith..." Actually, he looks vaguely familiar. "You...aren't from Goldenrod are you?" I haven't spent a lot of time in the city proper, but I've certainly passed through plenty of times.

The cab drops me off right outside the gates, and safe to say I'm at the right place. A pleasant cool breeze of air greeted me. I was in awe of how grand and pretty everything seemed. It appears like there's still a good crowd going on, which means I'm not late by any means. I move through the flux of students, taking a pamphlet from one of the teachers handing out them. Oh boy, I could use some food.

But Bagon "Ryt" is starting to shake in his ball, out of impatience and wanting to move. Fair enough I guess, he's not used to being in a pokeball for so long. I find a spot right on the corner of the garden, not too close to anybody but not very fair either, I chant "You can come out now" and free Ryt from his ball. He seems excited, but also a bit grumpy for having to be "imprisoned" for so long. "Hey buddy, don't give me that look! I had to sit down for the whole ride as well, hasn't been long for me on my feet either!" I convince him to drop the grudge, and the next second he's just running around in circles. I just laugh at his goofiness.

Yikes, according to Alli, I apparently “talk weird”. She’s a bit of a ditz from what I can tell, because she starts flooding me with all of these questions, but being the nice guy I am, I decide to play ball and answer her questions carefully and truthfully. I hold my hands out, motioning for her to slow down. “Cool out, you’re not narcing me out are you? Anyway, to answer your questions, first, I’m from Castelia City in Unova. No, not all people talk ‘weird’ over there. Yes, I am a first year if the bus ride wasn’t any indication. And finally, I came to the garden not just because I like grass Pokemon; this was my first stop on my own self-guided tour of the campus. What I’m trying to say is, you wanna check out the campus with me?” I stand up from the bench and notice how much taller I am than this girl - she can’t be any taller than five feet. Whatever, that’s just water under the bridge. I stretch out the tiredness in my body as I wait for an answer.

"Huh? Well yeah, born and raised. Did the accent give it away, or..." I trail off for a bit at the end there, as I shift through the old memory banks, trying to figure out if I should know this girl.

Hmm, medium height, piercing blue eyes, brown hair. I mean I've really got nothing, unless. No, there's no way. Then again I never got a glimpse of that girls face, so I mean, anything is possible.

"Wait," I say as my blood goes cold "this isn't about that mailbox is it? Listen man, like I'm real sorry about that, I didn't even wanna be there. I just kinda got dragged along for that one, then one thing led to another." I trail on like so for a bit.

"Sure!" I don't really know the place super well, and better to be lost together than alone. "I hafta learn the grounds so I don't get lost anyway." Even though I don't know what he's saying half the time, he doesn't seem bad. Although, now that I get a good looksie. "You look like you don't move much." I tilt my head. "Oh, are you a...um...what are those called." I bit my lip and tilt my head the other direction. "A busker?" Although, I think the matron said that they were just lazy bums and that busker was too kind for them.

"I think you are mistaken, I lived in Ecruteak. I just passed through fairly often..." Ugh, this guy must be a delinquent or something. I adjust my bag again. Just my luck, I would run into a troublesome person. Probably a vandal of some descript. "Anyway, I guess I should be off..." I don't really know where I'm going, but anywhere away from this guy sounds good for the moment.

No shit Sherlock, you literally went off brown hair on that one. "Haha" I let out a weak laugh "just kidding with that."

"Oh," I say as she says something about needing to go, guessing I didn't make that hot of a first impression there "well like, I was gonna check out the school grounds, would be cool to do so with some company if you aren't too busy. It'd be pretty cool to hear about Ecruteak, you go to that cool old tower often?"

“Cool. I don’t know the grounds that well either but the brochure I got from one of the TAs had a map on it, should help us big time.” I pull out the brochure from my bag, and as I scan the map within, Allie comments that I don’t look like a move much. To cap it all off, she comments that I’m a busker. As I start walking in the direction of the recreational center, I respond “I don’t look like it, but I bounced between sports back in primary school, and I play guitar, just not for money, you know. I actually enjoy it.”

"O-oh? Do they usually not like playing instruments?" Is that why the matron doesn't like them? Geez, I feel more confused. "I never really did sports, well, we didn't have sports back at the orphanage. But I like running!" I start after Page. I hold out my arms like wings. "I wish I could fly though, that would be awesome! Oh, but I have a flying Pokemon, so one day maybe I can fly, that'd be pretty sweet!" I put my arms back down as I catch up. "Why don't you do sports anymore? Oh, where's Cas...castle city? What's it like there? Why did you decide to come here?"

Of course, he probably wants to try and salvage his reputation after that. "I suppose I owe you as much. I don't know the last time you were at Ecruteak, but it must've been after Brass Tower burned down." I brush my bangs away from my eyes. "My family takes care of Tin Tower, although lately people have taken to calling it Bell Tower. I guess you could call me a shrine maiden if you really wanted."
