First off, hi! I'm new here! I'm enjoying the demos, and I'd love to see how much this game progresses. So, one of the things that I'd personally like to be added, and that a few others would is the ability to play as a character that is not "Red". A way I feel that this could be accomplished is by having the player's character more or less be a blank Pallet that can be customized at the beginning of the game. This could entail the choice of a few different outfits (color swaps of Red's outfit, or other characters'), a customizable face (of course with limited options so that the portrait of the character isn't weird), and a few questions that can fit in with the dialogue, such as "Where are you from". The relationship with Professor Oak could be rewritten as the player character being a late addition to the school, and Oak's class having an open slot, or some other past relationship. Overall, in these sorts of simulators, I feel that customizability isn't a true necessity, but I feel like it would make a nice addition. I look forward to trying out more of the game in the future, and hope for more versatility and choices. If you have any input, please comment below. Thanks for your time, Snaroc |

There are so many sources out there already that confirm the devs aren't gonna do this. FYI the protag isn't a blank slate if you can't tell from the demo. He has his own personality and dictate most of the flow while the choices you get as a player are based on how the protag acts. Too lazy to find links to all the dev Q&As, but basically anything they don't deem as a priority will be ignored and having alternate player characters isn't on their list. At most they MIGHT do a female player character but ONLY after the visual novel is 100% complete. Don't forget that coding takes countless hours of work. Throwing in just one extra character exponentially increases development time. There's probably a million "not-necessary-but-it-would-be-nice" ideas the devs can consider, but if they try to add them all, the game might be completed by the time the Sun burns out. |
