When you said that we must only use characters currently existing within the virtual novel, does this mean only characters that have appeared so far in the game, or can we also include characters who have appeared in concept art but have not been introduced yet? There are a few characters I have seen on this image who I would like to include.

I want to ask too: what is the limit date for this? :?:

No time limit, so take as long as you need to make your submission good.

Soundwave, congratulations on being accepted! I've always seen you contributing on the boards. You deserve it, to say the least. :D

Doughy - I'd assume the former. They want you to build off the characterization they already set up. If they're not present in the Visual Novel, then they have none to build on.

Hey, so quick question about submissions based upon characters. I'm planning on submitting a total of four scripts: one Drama/Comedy combo for a male NPC, and one Drama/Comedy combo for a female NPC. I'd like to do this to highlight how moments go differently between the two, given that there's (presumably) a potential romance between female NPCs and Red. I'm fairly certain it's been stated that there is no possibility for any same-sex romances for Red, so the male NPC script would feature none of that.

With all this in mind, is this sort of dual submission allowed? If so, can we submit all 4 scripts in 1 .doc file? If not, is it 2 .doc files (one per character) or 4 .doc files (one per script)?

They want 1 submission that is based of serious circumstances, and 1 submission based off comedic circumstances. If they read one of your comedic writing submissions and think it's meh, they won't bother reading the other and ask you to try writing a serious submission instead. If they think the comedy submission is good, they'll ask you to do a serious one also to test you. If they think your comedic submission was crap, they won't bother messaging you back at all.

You're better off scrapping one of those submissions, picking the one you like best, and writing a second submission based off a serious circumstance. Yes you can put it in one full document as long as they are seperated obviously.

How do I know all this?
The lead writer and Director have already looked over my serious submission, and are now looking at my 80 Page comedic submission. No, yours doesn't have to be that long.

Good luck!

I gotcha-- the whole thought was that I'd write one serious script and one comedic script for both characters, and considering that, uh... I've got two scripts written for Brock, I figured writing two scripts for one of the girls would be more feasible to be accepted. I'll continue writing all four scripts, but realistically, if you guys would only want the girl script and then might be interested in looking over the Brock material, then I can hold off on submitting it and focus on the girl script.

Given that Brock doesn't have a lot of set characteristics outside of being a pervert, I'm making up a LOT of stuff, so I'd completely understand if you'd want me to focus on characters that are more fleshed out at the moment.

It's been established that they want you to be more involved in using the canonical characters currently available to the player to interact with rather than implementing individuals of original conception or characters not yet defined, including future students.

You said you got a Brock script, but you made a number of factors up. It's true that Brock didn't receive much of an introduction as a character so far in the visual novel, except if you make a visit to the Academy Swimming Pool during free period - Brock is introduced as a supposed peeper spying on Misty.

Anyhow, a good resource at this point to look into are Pokemon Visual's social media and gaming websites such as Facebook and Twitch, and checking what little entries exist on the game's wiki since their is material there from v1.0.2 that may help with your writing. I think Brock had a summary page for himself so I would recommend looking into that.

Anyway, good luck on your scripts. Hope the image helps.

You're sending in your best work.

Don't make it harder for yourselves.

Two pieces. Dramatic and casual. No more, no less.

I hadn't seen that image before, it helps immensely and I've incorporated the information into the script!

Understood, I'll focus on just two pieces. Thank you so much for the feedback!

Hello,
I'm currently working on my two scenario's and I wanted to know how much time we have, I don't know if there is a time limit attached to this but since I'm pretty busy right know I would like to know if it has a deadline or not :)

No time limit on writing applications, as development on this game is going to continue far into the foreseeable future.
