Hey, so quick question about submissions based upon characters. I'm planning on submitting a total of four scripts: one Drama/Comedy combo for a male NPC, and one Drama/Comedy combo for a female NPC. I'd like to do this to highlight how moments go differently between the two, given that there's (presumably) a potential romance between female NPCs and Red. I'm fairly certain it's been stated that there is no possibility for any same-sex romances for Red, so the male NPC script would feature none of that.
With all this in mind, is this sort of dual submission allowed? If so, can we submit all 4 scripts in 1 .doc file? If not, is it 2 .doc files (one per character) or 4 .doc files (one per script)?
They want 1 submission that is based of serious circumstances, and 1 submission based off comedic circumstances. If they read one of your comedic writing submissions and think it's meh, they won't bother reading the other and ask you to try writing a serious submission instead. If they think the comedy submission is good, they'll ask you to do a serious one also to test you. If they think your comedic submission was crap, they won't bother messaging you back at all.
You're better off scrapping one of those submissions, picking the one you like best, and writing a second submission based off a serious circumstance. Yes you can put it in one full document as long as they are seperated obviously.
How do I know all this?
The lead writer and Director have already looked over my serious submission, and are now looking at my 80 Page comedic submission. No, yours doesn't have to be that long.
Good luck!
I gotcha-- the whole thought was that I'd write one serious script and one comedic script for both characters, and considering that, uh... I've got two scripts written for Brock, I figured writing two scripts for one of the girls would be more feasible to be accepted. I'll continue writing all four scripts, but realistically, if you guys would only want the girl script and then might be interested in looking over the Brock material, then I can hold off on submitting it and focus on the girl script.
Given that Brock doesn't have a lot of set characteristics outside of being a pervert, I'm making up a LOT of stuff, so I'd completely understand if you'd want me to focus on characters that are more fleshed out at the moment.
