...How are we going to beat Blue? Obviously, save scumming is an option, but for people who don't want to do that, how do you think the devs will handle it? Our Charmander are faster than Squirtle, but all it'll take are two Bubbles and we're done for. Bite-hax seem to be the most reliable method here, and even that relies an uncomfortably large amount on luck. If we are not permitted to bring our Pikachu out of class without his Pokeball, then perhaps we could actually take Leaf up on her offer of borrowing her Bulbasaur? That would feel pretty cheap, though, if we didn't use our starter in our first battle. Thoughts? |

We currently have someone revamping the battle system. Originally, when Bubble worked, the only way you could lose was if Blue used Bubble three times in a row, which would turn out to be around 1.5% chance of that happening. Or if you got hit by critical hits three times in a row. Or a combination of critical hits and all Bubbles. For the most part, it would be a match that you can win, but Blue has the advantage, which should be the most realistic scenario. We're not messing around here! We could make it even tougher by programming AI to always use super effective moves on you... which we actually might eventually. But Bite will have flinch effects in the future (along with other moves with secondary effects). |

Perhaps in the distant future once the game is released, you could have an Ironman mode of some kind that makes battles harder and doesn't let you use multiple saves (or otherwise use saves to make a decision again). |

Early on we don't have many options, but i hope the trainers actually have strong strategies the deeper we get into the game, considering we saw jasmine with a legitimate strat with her venomoth and everyone understood what was happening. |

When I played, Bubble didn't do anything, same for a friend. Is it growl that provoke that, or something else? |

The whole idea is that we aren't supposed to have a high chance to win. Blue is an actual good trainer, we aren't. He has the advantage, we don't. That means we have to rely on RNG and strategy to win. We have to prove to Blue that we aren't a pushover. That's the whole point. |
