I'd imagine that much of us here wish to contribute something to PAL in one way or another. Other than submitting a commission in hopes of earning a spot on their team of writers (which is no longer an option), we settle on offering our ideas. While most of the ideas made by fans here are great in theory, some are just too ambitious for the kind of game this is. PAL, like many other fan games, is a non profit project run by a few passionate fans. They fully understand that they run the risk of their passion project receiving a cease and desist. Companies such as GameFreak have to take down fan made Pokemon games because allowing others to use their creations will devalue their copyright, making them to lose their legal grip on their own series. They appreciate the thought, but business gets in the way. Games like Pokemon Uranium and Pokemon Prism may be free, but they can be third party competitors that take the attention away from official Pokemon games. If you have an idea in mind, question its feasibility beforehand. If it's simply too ambitious or consumes a significant amount of time, rework the idea into something that can be a possible addition once PAL is completed. If it relates to the core story of the game, such as my School Organized Events idea (shameless plug, but go check it out), make sure it gets attention before they have their minds set on something else. You can do this by joining their artist's Discord server (The Goon Squad). If you are a new member, the devs answer one question you ask of them. I'd rather the devs finish PAL before they decide to work on these side projects that the community relentlessly suggests. I'd be thoroughly disappointed if they get a cease and desist before finishing the game all because they took on too many side projects. |

I know you mean well but i think you should give the developer a credit. They weight the topic and do not took every suggestion posted in here you know. with that being said, i dont think limiting suggestion here in developemen do anything to the game release date. Unless the suggested topic is a major change to fix broken game mechanic or something like that. And as the development progressed, it is lesss likely they accept any new feature suggestion. In other hand more suggestion here might indirectly spark a new idea for a new fangame either by the same dev or not, integrating the unused idea here. so i guess there is no need to be paranoid about it lol |

True. I have overblown things here, looking back. I really only meant for people to re-purpose their ideas in a more realistic way. My friends and I had to learn this the hard way when we tried to bite of more than we could chew: we were overly-ambitious for our first rom hack and things kinda fell apart because of sporadic ideas. We learned a lot from the experience, so I just made the post merely for the sake of being cautionary. |

Ouch yep being ambitious and idealistic is rather dangerous high risk high return gamble lol. Anyway i think directly PM the actual staff member like soundwave to remind them is much more efficient as he seems to be the bridge between forum dweller and dev team. After all it was dev team who have the final word. without their approval suggestion will be a mere thread |

Well even if we used a suggestion from the forum we wouldn't post in the thread to say "Hey, we're using this idea." or "We're already doing this." because that might get spoilery fast. |
