How long roughly is the game planned to be? Using the American school system, The game would last between 25-26 weeks (25.714... you get the point). Assuming the game lasts 3 years, each year being the same length, that's 525-540 days. Add in vacations which will cover the rest of the time, 1095 days for three total years. I am assuming breaks are either not going to be covered, signified really by only a change in Red's appearance at most and maybe levels gained by his Pokemon as well as everyone else, or maybe just choose what you do each month (Train, build relations, explore, study). Presumably most of these days will not have story elements and just be Computer Generated free roam days except with the tests, but that is still a lot. |

It's mainly influenced by the Japanese school system, but also uses some aspects of other school systems. I'm assuming they won't be using certain Japanese breaks like Golden Week, but we aren't far enough in the game to know whether they'll put those breaks under different names. The Japanese school year begins in April. The first term runs to around July 20, when summer vacation begins. Kids return to school in early September for the second term, which lasts until about December 25. The final term begins in early January and continues to late March. While this is speculation at best, I hope it helps! When the next update comes out, be sure to ask this in the next AMA. |
