Every once in awhile, in roughly 1/256 playthroughs of the game, your homeroom will not be lead by Professor Oak, but by an Imposter Professor Oak instead. If this happens, you get a secret ability where once per match you can force your opponent to shuffle their hand into their deck, and then they get to draw 7 new cards. |

It happens right after Blue gets his squirtle. The "Professor" will ask you if Blue should put the squirtle back, and take another starter. If you take the "Professor"'s offer, Blue gets a scyther instead. So, in addition to the advantage mentioned above, your starting fight against Blue is much easier... well, you have the type advantage at least. |
