My 'interpretation' of the situation as I can best deduce it from twitter/this forum is that there was a struggle in development from some IRL stuff so they reshuffled how they got things done and that's helped a lot. I'm optimistic for a release (another demo, to the end of the month is what I think I heard?) soon. I'd love Hilbert to work his magic and have the game to us tomorrow as perfect as it could possibly ever be in it's final form with full voice acting, nintendo approval, and no stupid mouse I have to drag about to satisfy my own pissing contest with Lance; we all know that isn't going to happen, however.
Given the game is to cover 3 years of schooling and we have a week out of - oh I don't know how many weeks Japanese school is - say 40 weeks - means it's about 0.8% done.
Scary, but the first steps are normally the hardest strides. And since an object will stay in motion unless something happens to alter that motion, I'd say it won't take 40 years to finish this. Just keep up with the twitter, it'll keep you informed enough.
