So, I know we're gonna have the option to do extra trainning during free time, but I wondered if there could be methods to develop our relationship with our pokémons (mainly Pikachu, Charmander and the electives) For example, let's say you go to the baseball field when there's nothing special happenning. You could have the option to play with your pokémons there. Ex: You choose to play with Riolu, so the game will tell you that you and Riolu play at throwing a ball at each other. If you have a Venipede, it would rather tell that you are throwing the ball around while Venipede chases it to sniff it. I would see that you could do this kind of thing only with the four pokémons given to you at the beginning of the visual novel (easier to program and it would highlight the fact that they are closer to you), with each location or activity affecting the result depending of the pokemon, who could like and benefit from it or dislike it (for example, a walk in the park would probably please Pikachu very much and increase his friendship a lot, while a little race around the field with Sneasel would increase his friendship and give him a little exp. However, a pool session with Charmander might lower his friendship stat or Aron might resent you for the race that Sneasel loves so much). So, what do you think of this? |

If this was implemented it could also make battles more realistic in terms of pokemon not following your commands or how they act after you give them your command. For e.g, Charmander might be less invigorated due to your recent action before battle which causes the enemy to out-speed him. Or, If Charmander has recently been given special treatment like a massage (Best thing I could think of) he could be more inclined to help you out which gives him a stat boost over the opponent. Of course, people may abuse this and only send out their best treated pokemon but other "underlings" may start to feel jealous and lash back out at you. If this happens it lowers your chance of passing the exams. It could also affect your relationships too. Possible pokemon loving waifus might be disgusted if your Pocket monster starts biting you in the middle of a date. This is probably too time consuming for the devs to implement but it sounds cool so i'll keep dreaming about it. |
