Hey! First post here. I've been thinking...

A lot of the issues with coding, etc. of pokemon battles (and having sprites, thought maybe those will be drawn or ripped from early gen sites, etc.) would be solved by getting into contact with the people over at http://pokemonshowdown.com/

For anyone who doesn't know, this is a site online that hosts pokemon battles through the internet mainly focused on competitive play. They have completely functional U.I. and all pokemon avaliable... so maybe somehow if the devs were to get into contact with them they'd be able to get some suggestions or a partnership on coding the battle sequences into the game?

Tell me what you guys think.

We will not use Pokémon Showdown.

Our goal is to adapt things to our style first and foremost. In addition, coding for Pokémon Showdown and a visual novel is like comparing apples to oranges. They're nothing alike other than the fact that they involve coding.
