Brendan is one of Red's (player character) roommate options in Pokémon Academy Life. He is a highly active and expressive individual rarely in a poor mood. Like his girlfriend May, Brendan is an aspiring Pokémon Coordinator and eventually co-leads Kobukan Academy's Coordinator Club.

First glance

Brendan is a tall and extremely fit young man. He is an avid gym buff and health freak, easily hyped up by the sight of new equipment or when he meets someone who is remotely interested in working out. When granted the opportunity, he will not hesitate to try to recruit others to be his workout partner.

Brendan learned at a very young age that being expressive is the best way to communicate. He is known for being easy to approach and talk to, which results in him building a large circle of friends. Despite having a laid back personality, Brendan maintains a high level of activity and is rarely seen loafing around. Occasionally he can be on the dense side when it comes to judging situations, though that is a product of his fun-loving and mischievous nature.

Early on, Brendan is shown to be highly supportive of May and is constantly on the lookout for her well-being. The two are rarely seen without each other when outside of class hours.

Brendan's story is intertwined with May's. Right at the start of the story, both of them are established as active, friendly, and amiable characters to everyone. Naturally sociable, they both do their best to get along with everyone they meet at the academy. Together, the two of them are devoted to kickstarting their own Pokémon Contest routines, rather than training for the Pokémon League.

  • His birthday is a reference to the original North American release date of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire versions.
  • According to lead artist dmjh93, Brendan's buff physique was accidental.
  • When the player asks Brendan about his "white hair," it was a reference to the countless players who thought Brendan's hat was hair back when Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire were released in 2002. The game sprites had limited detail on the Game Boy Advance and Brendan's natural brown hair was not visible. Nowadays, it is easy to tell the difference between his hat and hair.
  • In a brief Twitter popularity poll for roommate characters, Brendan received 61 percent of the 136 votes.
