Blue is a given but Lance maybe towards the end.

I assume that you wouldn't fight either to enter the team, since Lance seems to be the club advisor and Blue isn't even part of the team yet. I don't think you would fight Janine either, since she seems to be team captain at the moment. So the entry requirement might be a level check on your pokemon, or even some competition in the gym against other perspective members.

In that case you actually might have to fight Blue, which would be pretty cool.

It would be pretty sick if you got to challenge people form outside the academy, maybe some little appearances from characters who didnt quite make it into the main cast that you could battle agianst. im also interested in seeing if there is any actualy battling to be implemented, even if rather basic, it would be nice to see and a cool, rewarding process while becoming the very best (like no one ever was)

We want Pokémon battling to be a major component of the game, just like it is in other Pokémon media. Even I personally don't know exactly how it'll be in practice. It's up to the programmer who's designing it right now.

We'll definitely show a demo of the battle engine when it's ready.
