I was curious which circle of friends everyone enjoys running with the most, and the reasons why.

Personally, I loved hanging out with Brendan, Tierno, Leaf, and that crowd more than the Cheren, Calem, Serena crew. Their business-like attitudes made me almost uncomfortable, and meanwhile Brendan and Tierno are more like folks I hang out with in real life: laid back, friendly, and not afraid of doing stupid stuff for fun.

What about you guys?

Honestly, the Brendan/Tierno group reminds me of the friends I had my first 2 years of high school, while the Calem/Cheren group reminds me of the friends I hung out with for the latter two and into university. I prefer the latter but only by a little - I'm hoping that the Calem/Cheren group gets a little more dynamic as the story continues.

I'm also hoping/expecting the groups to blend more further on. For example, I'll most likely choose Calem as my roommate for the full game, but I'll also be picking the Fire elective class, meaning May will be in two of my classes every day and will likely factor into my playthrough more. At least that's what I'm hoping for - and that Leaf transcends the "groups" because she's definitely the most interesting character yet imho.

Personally, I prefer the Calem/Cheren group. As much as the Brendan/Tierno group reminds me of my actual friends, aren't those the ones that I'm trying to get away from by staying on the demo? Also, the Brendan/Tierno group doesn't have Hilberts' humor......

I honestly prefer Bianca and the Business Crew a bit more than I prefer the Friendly guys. I like both Groups, but I prefer the former group simply due to it being relatable to my actual real life group of friends and because four of them are from Unova, my favorite Region. It bums me out a bit to see that N has not been confirmed and possibly not going to be included in the game, since I think it would be amazing to have him in, and I think his story would be my favorite after Lady Hilda's and Lord Hilbert's. I'm just gonna do pros, as both groups have something wrong with them but most of those things wrong are more or less based on one's views of the characters and both the Pros and Cons are meant to be there for both Plot and Flavour for Characters.
The pros about the Business group in my opinion is the fact you have a group of people who seem like they can keep you on task and I'm not sure if you can join the Student Council, by which I am quite intrigued by, in the Friendly Group. I also feel like though they are quite serious, I do feel like they are kind in their own ways.
The Pros for the Friendly group is the fact, as Dave said, are not afraid of doing stupid stuff for fun, which sounds like it would provide several interesting scenes. There is also the fact that being with such a social group, you will get introduced to more characters. Finally they seem like the kind of group that will provide a more homey atmosphere.
In my opinion, if you want to go for as many social Interactions between both groups, Calem is probably your Roomie. With the Right electives, you can meet almost every single member of the Friendly Group along with all of the business group.

I actually hung out with both groups while in school.

I think it's really cool to see how many people really like Calem and Cheren's circle. While I do prefer Brendan and Tierno's crew a little more, I still really enjoy the other side. The discomfort I mentioned dissipated when I got to see other bits of their characters shine through. I think the potential for character development here is enormous, and I'm excited to see what happens.

Cheren giving compliments out, and even the stoic Hilbert joining in homeroom was pretty cool. Hilda acting like a mom was another aspect I thought was interesting.

One thing I really respect is the dedication they have for their areas. They got where they were through a hell of a lot of work, which always appeals to me.

That said, I'm an extrovert and I love the laid back nature of the other group, and it fits with my approach to life. Not everything needs to be super cerebral and intelligent. Sometimes you wanna dance around and be a goof.

I love seeing all the different takes on this! It's so cool to see how everyone else thinks!

All I can really say about this is I doubt I would have much of a chance to mimic what my school experience was like. My experience mostly involved floating from clique to clique based on the ideas of "Which of these people will be more fun to sit with today?" while pretty much being on good terms with the majority.

For Cheren/Calem group they are that kind of group anyone would want to hangout with when you want to get serious about achieving something specifically. Cheren/Serena I imagine would be student Council, Hilbert/Hilda I am getting a feeling would be the two for the battle team since I believe Lord Hilbert plans to clean house with his fire bacon pokemon. Bianca and Calem I am not entirely sure about, I think they are basically to serve as the respite from being utterly serious.

The Brendan/Tierno group is what I would call the broski clique. They are the ones you would hang out with to relax and enjoy the world with. Brendan/May I feel are the two that would be your good friends but make you feel like a bit of a third wheel unless you attempted to bud in between them. Tierno/Shauna I believe are the pure goof balls of the group that you would plot things like pranks and parties with while Trevor would be the one to serve as your bit of reality to keep the group on track. He is pretty much the glue.

Honestly, I enjoy both, but if I had to pick one...

I'd probably go for the Brendan/Tierno group, as they remind me more of my current circle of friends.

I definitely love both groups, and heck even deciding between the two is difficult for me, but I definitely prefer a more light-hearted and goofy group than a serious group who needs to get things done. Yet, in that same light, I still enjoy the Calem/Cheren group's interactions, and how they have these specific goals they're striving for (mainly referring to Cheren, Serena, and Calem at this point...)

I'd rather stay with the Cheren/Calem group.
I'm the kind of people that would rather do something seriously, then sometimes hang out when I really have nothing else to do. (Like for their picnic idea.)
But when I start something, either I do it seriously, or I don't even start it.
