If you're reading this, you likely are very nostalgic for Pokemon Academy Life, and wanted to see how things are going, or you're looking for something else entirely and stumbled upon here by complete and utter accident.

If it's the former, welcome back, I'm sure you're very happy to see a new entry.

If it's the latter, congratulations, you've visited this page at the right time.

I'm firstly going to give the Discord links for anyone who just wants to play the game and not read beyond to learn about the greater contextual lore.

Anyways, so what's been happening with PAL over the past six years?

Here's the short story:

Pokemon Academy Life (PAL) is no longer in production--however, it has a direct revival project named "Pokemon Academy Life Forever" (PALF), being created by Freudian Creations as the absolute main driving force. But he isn't alone. By his side he's got a group of amazing artists who have made more outfits and characters than I can count; a menagerie of modders-turned-coders who pitch in from time to time, like yours truly; mods who man the rough seas of the Discord channel, zapping bad behavior wherever it may appear. But most of all, a fun and energetic community who theorize about what's coming next, and support the game and its development.

Freud, back in late 2022, had contacted the original creators of PAL, asking for their grace  to continue the project. They agreed, giving him all of the code, assets, and original ideas for the game. Freud has since been writing the entire story nearly by himself (shoutout to MMCC for writing many Professor-based scenes), and has given his own spin on it.

PALF is already at 9 weeks worth of content, with more being planned and added. It will go for a full year's worth of weeks.

PALF is everything you loved about PAL, and everything you love about Pokemon.

With a fully functional Pokemon battle system that he'd made from scratch, you are now able to catch and train your team.
And with 54 different starter Pokemon to choose from, each playthrough is as different as you make it.
Freud considers the game to be more of a "Persona-like" style game, so the game may be different than what you'd expect at first glance.

As for this website.

I'd recently gotten access to the admin account from one of the original PAL creators today. From today on, this is now a PALF website.
 If you're very attached to anything on this website as it is, save it now. I'm not sure if this website is going to stay the same, or if it'll be simplified to remove the accounts/forums, or what. 
If you;re worried about the download versions of PAL being lost forever--that is not a concern, one of the artists who's a real big fan of a certian character has already archived nearly every version of PAL and PALF that hasn't already been lost to time. And I must say, the collection is extensive.

Also, maybe you noticed, maybe you didn't, but: the forums are overrun with bots---don't click on any of those links. I'll see if I can do anything with my new admin powers on this website to get rid of those posts.

Anyways, time for a shameless self-plug.

The game has an active Modding community, which is encouraged by the game's creator. PALF runs on Renpy--which is an extension of Python, and the game's files are easily moddable.
Learning the basics of modding for this game is easy, so I encourage trying your hand if you have any interest in it. There are various channels in the Discord to help in the process, as well

It's how I ended up becoming involved in the game, myself. If you make or create something that would work well in the base-game, there's a high likelihood that it will be used.
There are also many other various ways fans get involved with the game--I'm sure people on the Discord will be happy to speak about it.
