The insignia of Steel-types

Steel is one of eighteen known Pokémon types.

Combat

Offensively, Steel-type attacks are strong against Fairy, Ice and Rock Pokémon and weak against Electric, Fire, Steel and Water Pokémon.

Defensively, Steel-type Pokémon are unaffected by Poison attacks, strong against Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal, Psychic, Rock and Steel attacks, and weak against Fighting, Fire and Ground attacks.

Byron is the instructor of the Steel-type elective at Kobukan Academy.

Excluding Red (player character), first-year students at the start of the game with an affinity for Steel-types include Hilbert, Hilda and Jasmine.
