Tierno is one of Red's (player character) roommate options in Pokémon Academy Life. His main goal of creating and perfecting an original Pokémon dance crew is fueled by his extreme fondness of music and dancing.

First glance

Despite his tall and heavy build, Tierno is very agile and flexible, much to the surprise of most people. He styled his hair in a way that resembles the feathers of avian Pokémon and Tierno often compares the freedom of dancing to the freedom of flying. However, he ends up signing up for Electric and Rock electives.

Almost always enthusiastic and cheerful, Tierno epitomizes the happy-go-lucky type. He has a not-so-subtle infatuation with Serena, yet he never shows any signs to follow through, possibly due to his preference to avoid drama and conflicts in general. Though if he can't help but get involved with other people's issues, he limits his actions to resolution. Contrary to what people may think of him based on his carefree behavior, Tierno is very intuitive, as he is particularly adept at reading facial expressions and body language.

His best friend is Trevor, whom he's known for years while living in the Kalos region. The two of them can usually be seen hanging out together.

Trivia

  • His birthday is a reference to the first time his anime counterpart debuted in the X & Y anime series in Japan, back in 2014.
  • His Pokémon type electives, Electric and Rock, reference "electronic rock," based on his musical preferences.
  • Tierno was the last roommate option to be implemented in the game, despite Calem already representing a Generation VI character.
    • The development team wanted to save most of the main Generation II and IV characters for future years in order to spread out content and prevent the player from being overwhelmed by the number of character introductions.
    • In addition, to maintain a theme, the team wanted to avoid using Gym leaders and other secondary characters as roommate options.
