Whitney is an upbeat, talkative girl with an overwhelmingly positive attitude. While she had no shortage of activities at hand in her hometown of Goldenrod City, Whitney decided to travel to the Kobukan region in order to break free from her comfort zone and experience something new.
She is Flannery's roommate and the two manage to get along well.

First glance
While Whitney is energetic and a great athlete, she is not by any means tomboyish. In fact, she is quite the opposite. Despite being genuinely optimistic at her core, Whitney is prone to be emotional. She has no qualms about expressing herself, either. Knowing this, Whitney falls back on her myriad hobbies—which predominantly consist of physical activities and sports—in order to relieve stress. She is a lifelong fan of baseball and softball, and quickly shot up the ranks of Kobukan Academy's women's baseball team as the ace pitcher, batting lead-off.
Whitney adores anything she considers cute, especially different types of Pokémon.
